Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1 – Arrival in Paradise
Arrive at Ukunda Airstrip to a warm coastal welcome. Transfer to your boutique resort. Spend the afternoon settling in, walking the powder-soft
sands, and swimming in the warm Indian Ocean. Dinner features fresh catch of the day with Swahili spices.
DAY 2 – Dhow Safari and Dolphins
Drive to Shimoni for a full-day dhow safari. Sail into the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park, a sanctuary for dolphins and turtles. Snorkel in the crystal-clear coral gardens guided by marine rangers. If lucky, pods of spinner dolphins will accompany the boat. Lunch is a traditional Swahili seafood banquet on Wasini Island.
DAY 3 – Coral Rag Forest and Culture
Morning relaxation. In the afternoon, visit the “Coral Rag” forest on Wasini or the shimoni caves, historically significant sites used during the slave trade era, now places of reflection. Walk through local villages to see community projects utilizing ocean resources sustainably (like seaweed farming).
DAY 4 – Blue Lagoon and Water Sports
A day for activity. Choose from kitesurfing lessons, paddleboarding, or a glass-bottom boat ride to the sandbank. For the adventurous, a skydive over the reef is an optional extra. The evening is free to explore Diani’s vibrant dining scene, from cave restaurants to beachfront grills.
DAY 5 – Conservation Center Visit
Visit the Colobus Conservation Center to learn about the threatened Angolan Colobus monkeys native to this coastal forest. Participate in a guided primate eco-tour. The rest of the day is at leisure for spa treatments or pool relaxation.
DAY 6 – Departure
Enjoy a final sunrise over the ocean. Depending on your flight time, enjoy a last swim before your transfer to the airstrip, refreshed and rejuvenated by the rhythm of the tides.
